Price per session starts at £50

Concessions are available and can be discussed at initial contact.

Please note: exact price will depend on the individual and the requirements. Please contact me for a free consultation.

Sessions are usually at a fixed time, once per week, and will generally last 50 minutes.

Where possible I will try and accommodate changes in time or days as needed.  Although there is a waiting room at The Octagon, I would ask that you arrive as close to your appointment time as possible. Please knock on arrival.

Please note: no food or hot drinks are permitted in the counselling rooms. Chilled water will be provided.

All children & young people must be accompanied by an adult to all sessions. The adult should remain in the building, but not in the therapy room unless by prior agreement, for the duration of the counselling session.

This forms an essential part of the work as what is discussed in the counselling rooms is not discussed with parents/carers or schools. However, there are exceptions to this rule and depending upon any concerns about the safety of the child.

As a counsellor who specialises working with children and teenagers I have developed a holistic, person centred, integrative approach which enables me to draw upon a variety of recognised theories allowing me to adapt the way I work to best fit the needs of my clients, giving them space to explore.

It may be that a more directive approach is requested or that CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), once experienced, becomes a preferred client choice. Whatever the need, I recognise that each person’s story is unique and therefore their therapy should reflect their individual needs.

The children’s act (1989) states counsellors are required to report any child protection concerns.

Payment is usually by electronic transfer or by cash immediately before the session.

It is possible, under special prior arrangement, to email you or the payee an invoice each month with my bank details. I ask that invoices are settled within a week of receipt.

A 7 day notice period for cancellations is in place.

If you are unable to attend a session you must let me know the week before. If it is possible, I will look to re-schedule the session for a time that is convenient for both of us. If not, the fee for the missed session is payable. If I have to take an unscheduled break you will not be charged.
